Responsibilities
- Design and architect data solutions and frameworks for clients.
- Respond to pre-sales RFPs and draft Big Data solutions.
- Compare AWS data tools, approaches, techniques, best practices etc.
- Lead and own architectural aspects of designing and building multi-tenanted modern data warehouses, business intelligence, predictive and prescriptive analytics and visualization platform.
- Ensure security, data isolation, quality, integrity, extensibility, adaptability, scalability, availability and understandability of this platform.
- Understands technical, business and organizational requirements of a modern data warehouse and business intelligence platform.
- Lead discussions with stakeholders on software requirements and design aspects related to key technical components, frameworks, interfaces etc.
- Mentor/coach junior developers and leads in the team(s) during design review, implementation and use of best practices and guidelines.
- Compile and write technical design documentation related to data warehouse design and architecture.
- Effectively communicate and resolve issues with cross-functional groups to escalate issues or changes in scope.
- Understands data volumes and customer reporting SLAs and provide infrastructure sizing needs and orchestration solutions.
Required Skill Set and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Big Data pre-sales, combining customer facing, commercial and technical capabilities.
- 3+ years of experience in an Architect role which should include architecting solutions using Big Data technologies.
- Experience leading customer engagements exploring the requirements and mapping solutions.
- Passion for problem solving and enthusiasm for positive customer outcomes.
- Proven experience architecting scalable, performance-oriented solutions using emerging Big Data technologies and traditional ETL tools.
- Hands-on experience in any of the Hadoop distribution/Hortonworks, Cloudera, etc. along with Kafka, Spark, Cloud Data Flow, Pig, Hive, Sqoop, Oozie etc. & RDBMS & Nosql DB.
- Good understanding of relational DBs (MySQL/Oracle), Columnar DBs (Infobright), ETL/ELT tools (Informatica Power Center/Scoop).
- Understanding of installation, deployment of large clusters.
- Extensive experience working with very large data sets and unstructured data, including data cleansing/transformation.
- Understanding of design/architectural patterns, along with cloud-based deployment patterns.
